The Giligans is the musical creation of Marie-Renée Grondin, a young singer/songwriter. She began performing alone at a very young age, but later invited her cousin Christine Beaulieu to join her with piano and vocal accompaniment. The duo rapidly caught the public’s attention with their first demo: ‘’ What’s Left Of Us’’ and as the opening band for Pascal Picard Band and Bonjour Brumaire to name a few. Due to Christine’s departure to London, which left its mark in the band’s history, Jean-François Barabé (drums), Simon Dorval (bass) and Pierre-Luc Thibault (guitar) joined the band and, consequently gave a second breathe to The Giligans. Since then, they aroused the public’s interest; they released a second demo, and shared the stage with The Dears and Coeur De Pirate. The quartet is currently working on their debut album which should be released by fall 2009.
