While the metal and hardcore scenes continue intermarrying with undeniable regularity, the majority of bands both big and small are still ruthlessly pigeonholed into their respective scenes and given little chance by the fans of either genre. Record labels, with the occasional exception, tend to intensify this polarization of appeal by only signing certain types of bands. A new vision is needed on behalf of a label, and new ground must be broken, if the two genres are to be taken seriously together as one, rather than just side-by-side. Tears From The Sky, one of Montreal's sole survivors of the hardcore uprising of the nineties and easily one of the most triumphant integrations of the two age-old styles the province of Quebec has ever produced, have not only succeeded in blending the two styles without pretension, they have revived the promise of self-empowerment through heavy music.
With the debut full-length Boredomville II on Torque Records (Re-release of Boredomville, originally released on Lost City Industries), Tears From The Sky have successfully begun writing a new chapter in their history, and one that is sure to surpass the already high standard they set for themselves throughout years past. Boredomville II was recorded by Pierre Remillard (Cryptopsy, Gorguts, A Perfect Murder), giving the album a bass-heavy and reverberating mix that fittingly showcases their modernized Metal'n'roll signature sound. With 2 bonus songs recorded, mixed and co-produced by Antoine Lussier (Ion Dissonance) and mastered by Yannick St-Amand (Despised Icon), the band took upon yet another step in their musical evolution. Upon its release, the band will embark on a road assault that will take them to countries as-of-yet uninitiated to the command Tears From The Sky bring forth. Expect big things from them in 2008.

Depuis combien de temps le groupe existe? Quels on été les changements apportés au sein du groupe depuis le début de la formation et pourquoi ?
Je ne suis pas là depuis le début, mais le groupe existe depuis 1999 en tant que Tears From The Sky. Avant cela il y avait Distrust qui comprenait pratiquement les mêmes membres que TFTS, et ça avait commencé en 1998. Mais officiellement TFTS à été fondé en 1999. Pour ce qui est des changements apportés, il y en a eu plusieurs depuis le début. D’abord, James le chanteur original du groupe (qui a d’ailleurs trouvé le nom Tears From The Sky pour le groupe, et c’est pour cette raison que le nom est resté le même depuis, en sa mémoire) est décédé en 2000. Puis Toups (qui est maintenant guitariste) a joint les rangs en tant que chanteur pour quelques années et c’est ensuite Seb (bass/vocals) qui a pris la relève au vocal. Ensuite Arnault (drummeur original) a quitter en 2005 et moi et JS (chanteur) se sont joint au groupe au mois d’octobre 2005. Le dernier départ fut Dom (guitariste original) qui est parti l’été passée pour poursuivre ses études. Toups a effectué un retour au source en prenant sa place à la guitare. Il ne reste donc que Yanos (guitare) et Seb comme membre original.
