The Hunters are four young men dedicated to a single passion, one that pumps through their veins. Music is what they live for.
From hope-driven, fist-raising punk rock to the heart-melting poetry of folk, from straightforward rock and roll to the abrasive and uncompromising approach of hardcore, they take influences from everything sincere and moving to craft catchy, melodic tunes drenched in emotion. They wear their goal of making music that matters on their sleeves, and are determined to get your feet stomping, your throat aching and your blood boiling.
The Hunters started playing music together only halfway through high school and have never shown signs of giving up ever since. With nearly a hundred concerts under their belt and lots of DIY ep's handed out, they took their ambition a step further when self-releasing a promising debut full-length in 2008 entitled “Dissent Lasts”, which earned them rave reviews from medias coast to coast. All agreed that The Hunters are a band with a bright future ahead of them. Already spending most of their hardly-earned bucks to get out on the road, and spreading their name around before even being old enough to legally drink the booze they were offered at shows, The Hunters have shared the stage with an impressive and diverse line-up of bands including among others Anti-Flag, Mustard Plug, Agnostic Front, Against All Authority, The Briggs, The Flatliners, The Aggrolites, Broadway Calls, The Casualties, The Creepshow, Subhumans (UK), Cobra Skulls and The Planet Smashers. Their hard work earned them the opportunities of playing in events such as the Vans Warped Tour and the Envol et Macadam festival (featuring headliners such as Bad Religion, Bloc Party, The Sounds and Alexisonfire) and took them all over Canada and through the U.S. East coast.
Now free of school duties and still youthful enough to live up to their dreams, The Hunters are ready to spend most of their time riding in a smelly van, sweating to death every night, setting stages on fire as far as their music can lead them. They are currently putting serious efforts in writing their sophomore release. Expect them to outdo themselves at the dawn of maturity and produce irrefutable proof that with positivity and true dedication, nothing is out of reach.

En écoutant votre musique, on entend un son empreint de punk, de rock et même d'une certaine approche hardcore; d’où vous viennent ces influences?
D’une panoplie de groupes, on écoute à peu près n’importe quoi, en autant que ça soit fait avec l’amour de la musique. Bref, si un artiste nous touche, c'est probablement sûr que ça va nous inspirer que ce soit pour notre son, nos paroles ou tout simplement dans notre vie en général.
